Allocation of Venture Capitalist Time

I’ve noticed that my posts have been heavy on the VC sector lately, and light on my other topics. I’ll have to get more into wine this weekend lol.

Anyways, here’s some interesting data that I unearthed today. This is from from one of the best resources for learning about how venture capital: “How Venture Capital Works.” On page 137, you can find the data I’ve used for the chart below:

Venture capitalists spend most of their time “Directing and monitoring.” Another critical way they spend their time is “Consulting.”

How effective do you feel their allocation of time has been?
