When Will Web 2.0 Fade Away?

Never?

Oh, please.

The American people thirst for innovation, for kaizen (constant, never-ending improvement). I’m not suggesting Web 2.0 will ever die. I hope not, at least! But do you really think that in 10 years, in 20 years, people will still refer to the term web 2.0? By then it will probably be web 6.0–or maybe not have “web” in it.

Who really knows what will happen?

I do. Because, at the end of the day, one thing is certain, change (…and taxes–unless you have off-shore accounts in the Isle of Man or something). Back to change…change. People love it, even if they don’t know it. Change = growth. Even if change is bad, it still = growth.

So when will the web change again? When will a new movement erupt and result in an effusion of hype, emotional spending and investments?

Who really knows when that will happen?
