Is It Really All About Luck?

by VentureDig on March 18, 2009

So the saying goes,

Once you’re lucky once, you’re nothing special.

Once you’re lucky twice, you’re good.

Once you’re lucky three times, you’re an entrepreneur.

Do you feel lucky?

This is a good one.
In the case of entrepreneurs, there is one factor that helps: the Halo effect. If I was successful once, then twice, chances are I will attract a lot of people who will want to work with me, help me be successful so that they can be successful, and so every time I play, my chances of success increase.
Having said that, a good entrepreneur should always stay humble and realise that every new venture is a fresh start, and while they have accumulated experience, the context will be new and there will be things they cannot control that will stir the cards.
