Have you noticed things have gotten better?
No, me neither.
But I never seriously viewed things as bad in the first place.
Other than being jobless for a day, I really haven’t been affected by the economy. Reason being: I diversified.
So when many around you whine about the poor economy–the boom, the doom and the gloom–I’m left thinking of the phrase my grandma (who was a tough, strict, insane Catholic school teacher), used to tell me: “Tough shit.”
Taking responsibility for actions has been the only thing keeping me up.
The problem I see with the whole, “Wall Street and Main Street” blame parade is that they lack this outlook. They lack the attitude of toughness–and more importantly, maturity.
After reading the Wall Street Journals’ “Future of Finance Initiative,” things suddenly became clear to me: it’s all politics. And, just for the record, I detest politics.
When you’ve got our Treasury Secretary openly pointing fingers, you know things are going to get intersting:
People across the country are angry and frustrated, as they should be, that this economy, the United States of America, got iteself in the position where enormous damage has been done as a consequence of a long period of excess risk-taking without meaningful adult supervision. And the consequences of that are tragic because they’re fundamentally unfair.
Tough shit.
