One line pitch
Yazzem is a Microtopicing website that allows each member to create topics that they enjoy or would like to talk about.
Team
The Yazzem team consists of two 14 year olds one from Michigan and the other from New York. Together they have 6+ years with web designing and development.
Pain
Until Yazzem there was no web service that allowed people to share their thoughts about anything that interests them by starting and joining topics.
Solution
Yazzem is the 1st service to do this and we plan to continue to do this while extending our platform beyond what we have now.
Technology
Since the launch of our platform we have added a way to share a topic on Twitter, Created by on topic pages, Profile pages and Status updates to be posted on your profile page.
Market
Our size is about 100 user’s and it has been one week after the launch.
Business Model
Yazzem make its money from ads but as of right now we do not have ads on the site due to the service still being in beta.
Competition
Yazzem has no competition as of right now due to Yazzem being the first of its kind.
Milestones
Our goal is to provide a way for everyone to be able to discuss topics in a quick and easy form (yes, even a caveman could do it).
Conclusion
Yazzem allows you to start topics about anything you want. Then others can join your topic to connect and discuss about it in 140 characters or less.
Microblogging is one of the fastest growing markets of the year. Certainly, its growth will continue to rise in 2009/10 as the emphasis on real-time information flow is real–and increasingly valuable. As I’ve help founded a similar microblogging platform, Yonkly, I immediately noticed some very important improvement areas for Yazzem–specifically, the font (get rid of Times New Roman), design, the fact that it loads a new page after each update. However, upon reading the “Team” section above you’ll notice that this site was conceived by two 14 year-olds. Very impressive for these kids to launch something like this.
I can see this growing to something big once they target a specific user group. I suggest getting in touch with the guys from teens in tech: here
Bottom line: I’m impressed by what these kids have done at such a young age. While right now it has some obvious improvements, I could see the site growing and becoming a story you read about in the near future.
