I love the user experience and love that it is &#8220;people powered&#8221; which is the only way it would work. The idea of &#8220;Nutrition Labels&#8221; to rate companies is really clever and makes sense. This is a great PR tool that people need to pay attention to. Two thoughts: Could this be expanded to be the Wikipedia of Consumer Reports? This would be even more valuable for smaller companies to get exposure and let their loyal customers bring them to the top.  I am excited to watch this one grow!</p></div>

<p>Cognitive Match is profoundly interesting in that it leverages tools in mathematics, technology and content to deliver relevant solutions to customers. The team is also a neat and diverse group.</p>
<p>On July 1, it was anounced that Cognitive Match raised a Series A round in order to focus on development. Right now, it seems as if they&#8217;re still in development mode, as the site is a bit brief and vague; however, the idea conjured is quite intriguing. The pain they&#8217;re proposing to target and mitigate is significant enough to where I&#8217;d love to implement it:</p>

<p>The site is crowdsourcing and it helps two niche markets, people who need jobs or errands done, and it also helps those looking for work. The site&#8217;s main goal is to help people and I&#8217;m hoping to help a lot of people all around the world. If at the end of the day I only help a few people I&#8217;ll be happy to have done my small part.</p>

<p>Well, the fact that INeedThingsDone&#8217;s proposition revolves around helping those that are employed, speaks volumes. Today, with an unemployment rate of almost 10%, the market is huge. It&#8217;s ripe.</p>
<p>Some items of feedback:<span id="more-1625"></span></p>

<li>The site needs a new design. It&#8217;s tough on the eyes, in that, it&#8217;s almost like reading a highlighted page, or something from the 80&#8242;s rock scene.</li>
<li>The actual layout of the site is actually good, though. The information is organized in such a manner in that it&#8217;s easy to figure out immediately what INeedThingsDone actually does. Props to them. I suggest a softer, more earthy-toned site like <a href="http://venturedig.com/featured-ventures/refural-it-pays-to-refer/" target="_blank">refural&#8217;s</a> site.</li>
</ul>
<p>Looking at their job board, it&#8217;s obviously not going to overwhelm you. There&#8217;s not a ton of postings yet; however, if the network effect hits, this thing could really be quite valuable. There are a ton of people out of jobs right now, struggling to pay bills. I feel something like INeedThingsDone should be subsidized and advertised by the government. Why? Because, if INeedThingsDone actually grows, it will really help a ton of people out there.</p>

There are so many awesome things to say about BookofCooks. The idea reminds me of a Timothy Ferris blog I read about his friend hiring cooks on Craigslist. This is timely with the economy and so many people looking to pick up extra money this site could really take off! The UI is great and I love that they use Google Maps API and FB connect. I hope they get more press and to start getting more people signed up. Sort of the chicken and the egg dilemma that can only be solved by time or outstanding marketing. I hope there business model works well enough to keep this going until it becomes a hit. They really need to figure out a way to get this into the hands of cooks who may or may not be web savvy. Great concept now they just need people on the site.</div>

<p>Upon visiting Queryads&#8217; site, you can sense the focus of simplicity. This is critical as many other PPC sites lack simplicity, and when you&#8217;re competing with Google, this mistake quickly becomes fatal. Still, those unfamiliar with how PPC models work will be confused and tired upon visiting Queryads&#8217; site. There&#8217;s no video explaining exactly what Queryads is, and more importantly, how they&#8217;re different. Instead, there&#8217;s snippets of text glittered throughout the site that state benefits, not features. The only piece of information of what Queryads actually does lives in the following text:</p>
<p><em>Google, Msn, and Yahoo send billions of search engine traffic to sites every day. These people may put in long tail keywords or short keywords to seek what they are looking for.</em></p>
<p>Ok. Ummm. What does that mean?</p>
<p>Apart from that minor hiccup, Queryads could be pretty cool. The site design and proposition is nice, but the communication of value must be enhanced for them to experience long-term growth.

<p>So my initial discovery of Vaestro&#8217;s offering was a bit slow. I thought, &#8220;What exactly does forum software encompass?&#8221; What helped me understand their product was understanding the pain they intend to mitigate: lack of emotion offered through most web products. On the web, most communication is driven through your words; however, most emotion is communicated through voice. For this reason, Vaestro combines audio with traditional message boards. Not a bad thought, really.</p>

<p>The search component is critical and it needs to still be present within Vaestro&#8217;s offering. If there&#8217;s valuable data/answers in audio format through Vaestro, but nobody can find it (through search engines), then that&#8217;s a problem.</p>
<p>If each audio question/answer/recording also includes a <strong>transcript</strong> for search engines, that will be critical and will easily fix the problem.</p>
<p>This one is a long-run play as the audio tools for the average/middle-class internet user is still growing.</p>
<p>All the same, the software Vaestro uses is top notch and worth checking out.</p>
